Karma.jpg

Karma is a brand new skill, completely custom and unique to Redemption. It centers around the struggle between Good and Evil, and to signify that, it can be trained in two directions. Players who choose the side of Good train the skill in the positive direction, with a max level of 150, while players who choose the side of Evil train in the negative direction, with a max level of -150.

Becasue of the size of the Karma Skill, including all of it's planned rewards, it is being released across several updates. The first update introduced the skill and it's training methods, while future updates will center around the skill's rewards.

Most of the skill's training surrounds making sacrifices, but there are some other passive and active training methods as well. For a full training guide, see Karma Skill Guide

This page contains Legacy Content that is no longer accessible through normal means.

The Karma Quest focuses on unlocking the Karma skill. After receiving a Xebos Invitation, the player will start a journey of either Good or Evil. Once the quest is complete, the entire Karma skill is unlocked and may be trained.

Details

Starting Point This quest is started by obtaining a Xebos Invitation and using it to teleport to Xebos.
Description Xebos has invited the player to his lair to learn more about Karma.

Will you fight Xebos and attempt to gain control? Will you befriend Xebos and attempt to make peace?

Walkthrough

Xebos Invitation

Recommended items: Ranged AOE weapon and ranged gear. (The player will need to defeat Xebos and 4 Guardians of Am'orth that use protect from magic.)

To start the quest, use the Xebos Invitation to teleport to Xebos' lair. Once there, start a conversation with Xebos.

Xebos will tell the player that he has been resting and run down a list of titles he holds. The player will need to either taunt Xebos, provoking him into a fight, or introduce themselves and try to become his friend. Fighting Xebos will align the player with Evil, while becoming friends will align them with Good. This choice CANNOT be changed. The only difference is cosmetically. Regardless of the choice, the player will be forced to fight Xebos.

GoodEvilChoice.png

Fighting Xebos

Xebos is level 777 and has 450,000 hitpoints. When Xebos is 300,000 hitpoints, 4 Guardians of Am'orth will spawn. These are easily defeated if the player used a ranged AOE weapon (ex: AK-47 asiimov, BFG9000). Xebos' combat level is misleading, as he is easy to defeat with the proper equipment.

Once Xebos has been defeated, he will drop the Karma Book. Read this book to learn about the Four Kings.

The Four Kings

Recommended items: Combat equipment.
At the start of the world, Four Kings were tasked with maintaining balance. They have now gone mad and the player must defeat them, travel to the next realm, and bring balance with Karma. Defeated all four kings and combining their heads will reveal the secret to travelling to this realm.
Mad King Raid.png

Varrock, the Fireman

To get to the first king, teleport to Varrock using the teleport interface. Run north, towards Varrock castle. Defeat Varrock, the Fireman to receive his head.

Falador, the Surfer

To get to the second king, teleport to Falador using the teleport interface. Run south, towards Falador castle. Defeat Falador, the Surfer to receive his head.

Camelot, the Archaeologist

To get the the third king, teleport to Seers' Village using the teleport interface. Run east, towards Camelot castle. Defeat Camelot, the Archaeologist to receive his head.

Ardougne, the Wingman

To get to the fourth, and final king, teleport to Ardougne using the teleport interface. Run west, towards Ardougne castle. Defeat Ardougne, the Wingman to receive his head.

Finishing Up

Upon killing all Four Kings and collecting their heads, the player will now need to combine them. Combining them will create either the Staff of Good or Staff of Evil, depending on their earlier choice. Once the staff has been created, the quest is complete. Congratulations!

Make sure you speak to the karma guide in the karma guild to be able to receive xp!!

For more information regarding Karma, click here.

Karma Guilds are a part of the Karma skill. They are the hub of Karma training. Entry into the guild requires completion of the Karma Quest and the respective Karma Staff. Using the staff's teleport option brings you to the centre of the guild.

In the guild the player will find all the tools, NPCs, and facilities needed to train the Karma Skill.

Good Karma Guild

The Good Karma Guild contains the Altar of Heavenly Grace, Stalls of Giving, Good Deed, and the Good Karma Master.

Bad Karma Guild

The Bad Karma Guild contains the Stanic Altar, Stalls of Taking, Bad Deed, and the Bad Karma Master.

The Well of Goodwill and Well of Bad Will are new parts of the karma skill. Bronze Coins donated to either well give the player 1 Karma exp per 1000 Bronze Coin donated.

The Well of Goodwill communicates positive benefits upon the whole server whenever certain donation goals are reached. The Well of Bad Will, however, counteracts those effects, but only at half the rate. This means that every 1 Bronze Coin donated to the Well of Goodwill requires 2 Bronze Coins to be added to the Well of Bad Will in order to be counteracted.

Karmic Slayer is a training method for Karma. It combines the Slayer skill with Karma. Because of this, the player will need the respective Slayer level for the given task.

To begin Karmic Slayer, the player needs ±60 Karma.

Getting a Karmic Slayer Task

Karma Slayer Master.png

To get a Karmic Slayer task, the player needs to talk with the Good or Evil Karma Master.

NOTE: The task npcs have required slayer levels to kill, so you must have the required level to complete the Karma task as well!

NOTE: At 85 Karma, the player can pay 100,000 coins to persuade the master to assign them Abyssal Sire.

Rewards

After completing a Karmic Slayer Task, the player is rewarded with 20,000 Karmic Kismets.

There is also a 1% chance at receiving a Kismet Box.
