The BFG9000 (U) is the upgraded version of the BFG9000 that is made by combining the BFG9000 and the BFG Upgrade Totem. It is typically paired with the BFG9000 Offhand.  It is only slightly better than a BFG9000, so it is recommended to upgrade the BFG900 into the BFG9000 (i) instead of (U)
