Overview[edit | edit source]

Slayer is one of Redemption’s most important progression skills. Instead of training it by killing random monsters, you receive assignments from a Slayer Master and complete those tasks for Slayer experience, Slayer Points, keys, and other rewards.

Redemption’s Slayer system is heavily customized and includes:

Feature What it means
Slayer Tasks Assigned monsters or bosses that give Slayer experience and rewards.
Slayer Points Currency used to unlock upgrades, buy Slayer items, and improve progression.
Task Streaks Consecutive completed tasks that help build long-term point gain.
Boss Tasks Higher-level Slayer assignments focused on bosses.
Slayer Prestige A long-term progression system after reaching level 150 Slayer.
Slayer Paragon Late-game Slayer bonuses unlocked at high prestige.

Beginner Tip: Slayer is not just a skill. It is one of the main systems that helps carry your account from early game into mid game and late game.

Beginner Slayer Plan[edit | edit source]

If you are brand new, follow this simple path:

Step What to do Why it matters
1 Keep your Starter Gem in your inventory. It gives useful early bonuses while it lasts.
2 Start with Easy Slayer tasks. Easy tasks help you learn the system safely.
3 Save your first 25 Slayer Points. You need these to unlock Hard Tasks.
4 Unlock Hard Tasks. Hard Tasks are a major early progression step.
5 Avoid skipping too much. Task streaks are important for building points.
6 Save for Boss Tasks. Boss Tasks become one of the best Slayer progression methods.
7 Work toward useful pets, gear, and unlocks. These make Slayer faster and more rewarding.
8 Reach level 150 Slayer and prestige. Prestiging unlocks long-term Slayer bonuses.

Frequently Asked Questions[edit | edit source]

What is Slayer?

Slayer is a task-based combat skill. A Slayer Master assigns you monsters or bosses to kill. Completing those assignments gives Slayer experience, Slayer Points, and other rewards.

Unlike regular combat training, Slayer gives structure to your progression and rewards you for completing assigned tasks.

How do I start Slayer as a new player?

New players should start with Easy Slayer tasks. These are the safest tasks and help you learn how Slayer works.

You should also keep your Starter Gem in your inventory while training. The Starter Gem lasts 14 days and gives useful bonuses, including extra Slayer points, extra Slayer keys, and damage bonuses.

Your first goal should be saving 25 Slayer Points to unlock Hard Tasks.

What should I unlock first?

For most new players, your first important unlock should be:

Priority Unlock Cost Why
1 Hard Tasks 25 Slayer Points Opens better Slayer progression.
2 Boss Tasks 2,500 Slayer Points Unlocks stronger tasks with better rewards.
3 No XP Waste 800 Slayer Points Gives a chance at double Slayer experience.
4 Co-op Slayer 150 Slayer Points Allows you to complete tasks with another player.
5 Slayer Superior 1,500 Slayer Points Unlocks Slayer Superior teleport rewards.
Should I skip Slayer tasks?

Try not to skip too many tasks early on.

Skipping can feel faster, but it often hurts your long-term Slayer progression because task streaks are important for building points and momentum.

It is fine to skip a task if it is too hard, too slow, or not realistic for your current gear, but newer players should usually focus on completing tasks instead of hunting for perfect ones.

When should I block tasks?

Do not worry too much about blocking tasks immediately. Blocking becomes more useful after you understand which tasks are bad for your gear, damage, or playstyle.

Players start with 3 block slots. Additional block slots can be unlocked later with Slayer Points. Each blocked task also costs points.

Common tasks players may consider blocking include:

  • Nightmare
  • Enraged Hades
  • Abyssal Sire
  • Corporeal Beast

Block choices are personal. A bad task for one player may be fine for another depending on gear, pets, and account progression.

What are Boss Tasks?

Boss Tasks are Slayer assignments that send you to kill bosses instead of normal monsters.

They are one of the most important Slayer unlocks because they give better experience and loot than regular tasks.

To unlock Boss Tasks, you need:

Requirement Amount
Slayer Level Range 120–150 Slayer
Unlock Cost 2,500 Slayer Points
What should I do with Slayer Keys?

For most new non-ironman players, it is usually better to sell Slayer Keys to other players instead of opening them early.

Selling keys can help you build money faster, which lets you buy useful upgrades for your account.

Ironman players are different. Since ironmen cannot rely on trading, they may need to open their own Slayer Keys for progression.

What Slayer pet should I aim for first?

A strong early Slayer pet goal is the Crimson Chin Pet.

The Crimson Chin Pet is useful because it gives Slayer-focused bonuses, including:

  • Drop Rate Boost
  • Slayer XP Boost
  • Soulsplit
  • Extra Slayer Points from Easy tasks
  • Extra Slayer Points from Hard tasks
  • Extra Slayer Points from Boss tasks

It can usually be obtained through Player Owned Shops or from the Crimson Chin boss.

What Slayer gear should I focus on?

Early on, do not feel like you need to buy every Slayer item immediately. Focus first on important unlocks like Hard Tasks and Boss Tasks.

Later, start working toward the Slayer Master Set:

Item Cost Why it matters
Slayer Master Helm 2,000 Slayer Points Part of the Slayer Master Set.
Slayer Master Body 2,000 Slayer Points Part of the Slayer Master Set.
Slayer Master Legs 2,000 Slayer Points Part of the Slayer Master Set.

The Slayer Master Set is valuable because it gives a chance to double Slayer Points when completing tasks.

Are Expeditious Bracelet and Bracelet of Slaughter worth using?

Yes. Both bracelets are useful, but they serve different purposes.

Bracelet What it does When to use it
Expeditious Bracelet Can make one Slayer kill count as two kills. Use when you want to finish a task faster.
Bracelet of Slaughter Can prevent a Slayer kill from reducing your task count. Use when you want to extend a good task.

A simple rule is:

  • Use Expeditious for tasks you want to finish quickly.
  • Use Slaughter for tasks you enjoy or want to farm longer.
What boosts should I use for Slayer?

Slayer becomes much better when you stack boosts.

Useful Slayer boosts can include:

  • Starter Gem
  • Slayer experience potions
  • Slayer point-boosting consumables
  • Slayer pets
  • Slayer Master gear
  • Slayer Fruit or other limited consumables when available

The more useful boosts you stack, the faster and more rewarding Slayer becomes.

When can I prestige Slayer?

You can prestige Slayer after reaching level 150 Slayer.

Prestiging resets your Slayer level progression but gives long-term bonuses. Early prestiges are mostly based on reaching level 150 again, while later prestiges include additional requirements such as boss kills, task completions, key sacrifices, and other challenges.

Prestiging is important because it unlocks stronger Slayer benefits over time.

What is Slayer Paragon?

Slayer Paragon is a late-game Slayer reward system unlocked at Prestige 8 Slayer.

It lets you spend Slayer Points on powerful account bonuses such as:

  • Tribrid stats
  • Tribrid percentage
  • Max hit
  • Drop rate
  • ELO
  • Double drop rate
  • XP bonus

New players do not need to worry about Slayer Paragon immediately, but it is useful to know that Slayer continues to matter far into late game.

Slayer Point Priority[edit | edit source]

For most newer players, this is a good general point-spending order:

Priority Unlock / Item Cost Recommendation
1 Hard Tasks 25 Unlock this first.
2 Boss Tasks 2,500 Major progression unlock.
3 No XP Waste 800 Great Slayer XP value.
4 Co-op Slayer 150 Useful if you play with friends.
5 Expeditious Bracelet 300 Helps finish bad or slow tasks faster.
6 Slayer Superior 1,500 Useful for extra Slayer teleport rewards.
7 Slayer Master Helm 2,000 Start building the Slayer Master Set.
8 Slayer Master Body 2,000 Continue building the set.
9 Slayer Master Legs 2,000 Completes the main set pieces.
10 Double Me Up 7,500 Strong later unlock for Global Slayer loot.

Common Beginner Mistakes[edit | edit source]

Mistake Why it hurts Better choice
Skipping too many tasks Slows down point gain and task streak progress. Complete most early tasks unless they are truly bad.
Opening Slayer Keys too early May be worse money than selling them as a new player. Sell keys early unless you are an ironman.
Buying luxury unlocks too soon Delays important progression unlocks. Unlock Hard Tasks and Boss Tasks first.
Blocking tasks too early Wastes points before you know what is actually bad. Wait until you understand your gear and task preferences.
Ignoring boosts Makes Slayer slower and less rewarding. Stack pets, consumables, Starter Gem, and Slayer gear.

Quick Reference[edit | edit source]

First Goal
Save 25 Slayer Points and unlock Hard Tasks.
Main Mid-Game Goal
Save 2,500 Slayer Points and unlock Boss Tasks.
First Big Level Goal
Reach level 150 Slayer and prestige.

Final Advice[edit | edit source]

Slayer is a long-term progression system. Do not worry about doing everything perfectly right away.

As a new player, focus on:

  • Completing tasks consistently
  • Building task streaks
  • Unlocking Hard Tasks
  • Saving for Boss Tasks
  • Using your Starter Gem and other boosts
  • Selling Slayer Keys early if you are not an ironman
  • Working toward useful Slayer pets and gear
  • Prestiging once you reach level 150 Slayer

Bottom line: Slayer rewards consistency. Complete tasks, build points, unlock upgrades, and your account will naturally grow stronger over time.
