So you've started your first custom! Congratulations! What makes customs great is that they give you something to always be working towards upgrading.
Assuming you are brand new to custom items, hopefully this guide will answer all of your questions about them.
Even if you've played Redemption for a long time, we're going to start with the basics anyway.
Stats
When it comes to a custom there are a lot of things you can add to them. Stats are one of the big 3 options when it comes to damage.
Your Stats are going to be on the right side of your equipment screen.
What falls under the stats category? It consists of these things:
- Stab/Slash/Crush Attack Bonus
- Range Attack Bonus
- Magic Attack Bonus
- Melee Strength
- Range Strength
- Magic Strength
Notice defensive stats were not mentioned. This is because truthfully they aren't very important. As long as you have plenty of healing sources you will be fine.
Your stats are the only thing that is affected by ELO.
Tribrid Bonus
Tribrid bonus is another one of the big 3 options for damage.
Your Tribrid bonus is going to be found on the bottom left side of your equipment screen.
What falls under the tribrid bonus category? It consists of these things:
- Melee Bonus %
- Range Bonus %
- Magic Bonus %
How does tribrid bonus work? Essentially tribrid bonus is a percentage based damage multiplier. At 100% melee bonus, you will deal 100% more melee damage. This will coincide with your melee stats, which we will get more in depth with that later.
Damage Multipliers
Damage Multipliers are the final and arguably the most dominant option to add to your custom for high damage numbers.
Damage Multipliers are seen in the ::compare interface in-game, to see them you will have to scroll to the bottom of the stats section.
What are damage multipliers? Damage multipliers do exactly what their name suggests, they multiply the damage of the hit splat they are applied to. All damage multiplier effects have a chance to apply to a hit.
An example of a damage multiplier would be "1/10 chance to deal 2x damage". This means that per hit splat, you have a 1/10 chance to multiply the hit's damage by 2.
