One of the most appealing features we have on Redemption is the ability to upgrade items. This mechanic allows harder-to-find items to enter the game more easily, and keeps common, cheap items circulating in order to hold a stable economy.

Upgrades can be accessed by typing ::upgrade, and then interacting with either the Resource Trader or the Upgrade Chest. You can talk to Wizard Shug who can upgrade auras. Next to these is a Disassembling Dwarf that can give you back enchantments on your enchanted items. You will need a minimum of +10 to use the item on the Dwarf. You get 30% of the enchantments back and then they become untradeable. Also, there is a Librarian that allows you to exchange your armour pieces into other pieces in that set. Some amour sets are free to exchange and some require the monster's souls.

If you are succesfull in upgrading anything, you can collect them by using the collection chest. There is multiple at this location, and there is two at the home bank as well.

The Upgrade Chest is the original source of upgrades; its upgrades require no scavenger levels, and are available to all.

With Update 136, the Emperor Upgrade Chest was added giving access to some of the best items obtainable! When upgrading you can select the option to Safe Keep your item for a fee of 2000m DSCoins or 1000m DSCoins for Ironman Mode this option is 100% Guaranteed to save the item should the upgrade fail. This is 100% Guaranteed to save the item. You can also decide to pay 400M DSCoin and have a 50% chance to keep the item should the upgrade fail. The choice is yours. You can also choose neither and run the risk of losing the item completely should the upgrade fail
