About This Boss

Hydrothraxion Is the final phase of the Draconic Raid.

Fight Overview

For this phase of the Draconic Raid combat is reasonably simple with one main mechanic that does require concentration.

Hydrothraxion has quite heavy hitting auto attacks, When the main mechanic is triggered Hydrothraxion will shoot a fireball out of one of his heads in one of three directions, the player will see three different colour dragon head icons (glue, green and red) appear on the floor, the fireball will have been shot at one of the three of these.

This mechanic has several different outcomes depending on which head Fyrnath Shoots at, the player must move to one of the heads on the ground, the head they choose to stand on can have three different outcomes once the fireball hits the targeted head.

If The fireball is shot at green:

  • The player standing on the green head icon is the best outcome resulting in no damage
  • The player standing on the blue head icon is going to result in a heavy poison tick damage following the player along the floor for a short period.
  • The player standing on the red head icon is going to result in an insta kill.

If The fireball is shot at blue:

  • The player standing on the blue head icon is the best outcome resulting in no damage
  • The player standing on the green head icon is going to result in heavy tick damage for a short period.
  • The player standing on the red head icon is going to result in very heavy tick damage for a short period.

If The fireball is shot at red:

  • The player standing on the red head icon is the best outcome resulting in no damage
  • The player standing on the blue head icon is going to result in an insta kill.
  • The player standing on the green head icon is going to result in a heavy poison tick damage following the player along the floor for a short period.

If the player doesn't manage to stand on any head icon before the fireball lands they will be afflicted with both of the negative effects depending on the head icon shot.

The best way to resolve this mechanic is to ensure when fighting Hydrothraxion the player stand slightly to the north of the boss, equidistant between where the icons spawn. giving the least travel time to resolve the mechanic. The simplest way to resolve the choice of head to stand on is to always stand on the head icon that has been targeted by the fireball. then return to the middle position as the mechanic will repeat until the boss is dead finally marking the completion of the raid.
