Scavenger is a new skill which is unique to Redemptionrsps! The scavenger skill adds gameplay mechanics surrounding how players obtain loot as well as adding a massive expansion to the upgrade system. The scavenger skill is trained in two main distinct ways: Opening boxes & looting chests. This is where the skill gets its name. Different boxes and chests give different experience rewards, as will be discussed further on. Upgrading or attempting to upgrade items. This goes along with the large expansion to the ::upgrade area which came along with the skill. Experience rewards from upgrading depends on the difficulty of the upgrade as well as whether you are successful or not.

There are two main training methods used by players: The cheaper method of the two is to upgrade Drygore Offhands into Drygore Offhands (u) at the ::upgrade teleport. The offhands can be purchased from Candi's Armour in the shops building north of Redemptionrsps's home. They cost only three 1b tickets each and they are are hard upgrade, meaning that they offer 1,000 scavenger exp per attempt at a low cost, with a chance at 10,000 exp for every successful upgrade. This method yields around 1,000,000 scavenger exp per hour straight from level 1, making it extremely effective. The more expensive but faster method is opening the cheapest donation boxes, such as Super Mystery Boxes. Opening these boxes, while costing much more per experience point, can be worthwhile for those with lots of money to spend, as each box gives a guaranteed reward of 10,000 experience and a reward of 25,000 experience if an announced reward is received. With enough money to spend this method can yield upwards of 10,000,000 experience per hour but at a cost of several hundred quad per hour.

The scavenger skill's main benefit is the unlocking of new upgrades at the Resource Trader. These upgrades include an upgrade path for donator tickets, and upgrades for the asiimov weapons into the BFG9000! On top of this, your scavenger level affects the potency of the new tools obtainable from the Resource Trader's Shop, being the Gants Magnet, the Scroll of Returning, and the Upgrade Hourglass. These items give incredible benefits during your gameplay and become extremely powerful as your scavenger level gets higher, so get training!
