The Volatile Orb is dropped by The Nightmare and used on a Nightmare Staff to make the Volatile Nightmare Staff.
The Volatile Orb has a 90% chance to reward the player with 75,000 Grinder Points at the Item Grinder. Important: it has a 10% chance to vanish into nothing!
