This mechanic allows harder-to-find items to enter the game more easily, and keeps common, cheap items circulating in order to hold a stable economy.

Across the room is a Disassembling Dwarf that can give you back enchantments on your enchanted items. You will need a minimum of +10 to use the item on the Dwarf. You get 30% of the enchantments back and then they become untradeable.
